Lucie Ailsa Sutton

With Fabrique since 2023
Ex Kenzo & Paul Smith embroidery designer; crafted famed Louis Vuitton scarves, pivotal in H&M’s standout prints.
Lucie Ailsa Sutton’s textured journey in textile design began at Miriam Rouden's studio in London, where she swiftly mastered the nuances of print design. By 2012, she was a pivotal force at Kenzo, responsible for print and fabric development, graphic design, and embroidery for their WW Pre and Show series. Her expertise in integrating complex design tasks with brand-specific aesthetics flourished further during her tenure with Paul Smith in 2015, where she managed similar responsibilities for both men’s and women's collections.
Beyond her role in established brands, Lucie has demonstrated remarkable versatility across the fashion industry. She has undertaken significant freelance projects with global giants such as Tommy Hilfiger, Roland Mouret, and TOM FORD, developing key print designs that merged her distinctive style with their iconic collections. Her work not only reflects a deep commitment to textile innovation but also has earned her a reputable stature in the fashion world.
In her latest collaboration with Fabrique for their "Spring Garden" series, Lucie draws inspiration from the interplay of urban landscapes and the spontaneity of wild flora. This collection features a series of textile prints that capture the essence of natural forms through a minimalist and balanced composition. Utilizing mixed media techniques, including painting and sketching, she crafts abstract patterns that radiate with the colors and lightness of spring, reflecting a fresh, optimistic perspective on life’s everyday landscapes.
