About
Senior Calvin Klein womenswear designer. London College of Fashion alum. Collaborated with Maison Kitsuné, Opening Ceremony, Beams.
Mariana Catta, a São Paulo native, has made significant strides in fashion. After earning a bachelor's in fashion design, she pursued a master's at London College of Fashion. Now, with 10 years of experience, she's Calvin Klein's senior womenswear designer. "Fashion has always been my way to explore and express ideas," Catta shares, highlighting her intuitive approach balanced with practical skills.
Post-graduation, Danish designer Peter Jensen recognized Catta's talent. From 2014 to 2017, they collaborated with Maison Kitsuné, Opening Ceremony, and Beams, creating wearable yet intriguing pieces. Catta's method is hands-on, she refines designs through actual cutting and fitting, not just conceptualizing.
On collaboration with Fabrique, Catta draws inspiration from "street scenes, art, architecture, textures, color combinations." She aims to dress confident, adaptable women using deep colors and bold silhouettes. Her ideal is a versatile wardrobe that evolves with life yet retains its essence. Catta's work balances function and aesthetics, crafting empowering pieces for women across various roles and settings.
